Melissa Forman-- President, Sunbear Productions


Currently, Melissa is working on a new series for the Outdoor Life Network which focuses on the dramatic lives of the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dogs.  As well as two series through her production company Brisunbear for the Yankee Entertainment and Sports Network.  Prior to that, through Brisunbear Productions Melissa created, directed and produced a series for the YES Network entitled “On Deck” which features the NY Yankees in an entertaining and youthful light.  Prior to that, Melissa, as president of Sun Bear Productions, produced a Pilot for National Geographic Channels International entitled, “Built for the Thrill.”  This pilot utilized her knowledge of the extreme sports world and her creativity in postproduction.  Before that, Melissa created an Outdoor Adventure series for ESPN that premiered in September as part of their prime time Outdoor block.  The series entitled “True Outdoor Adventures” was reality based outdoor programming featuring hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor adventures.  Melissa also created, directed and produced a series of graphics and segment animations for the Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox Sports Net.

In 2001 Melissa formed Sun Bear Productions with which she directed and produced a series of athlete profiles for Red Bull of North America.  One such profile was awarded Best Short Film at the prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival.  Others aired on Good Morning America, Outdoor Life Network, RSN and Fox Sports Net.  She continues to produce these profiles for various distribution outlets today.

Melissa was involved in the A&E broadcast of the 2002 Paralympic Games.  Melissa produced features for the two-week long broadcast hosted by Harry Smith and Joan Lunden.

Past Projects:  In 2001 Melissa directed two, one-hour documentaries for The Outside Magazine Television Series, “Paraglide America” and “The Amazon is a Nice Place to Visit but I Wouldn’t Want to Live There.”  Both productions involved extensive travel and shooting in bizarre locations.  In 2000 Melissa formed 3 Corners productions, LLC with which she created, produced and directed “No Boundaries” a travel and adventure series for the FOX Network, which took her all over the US to the most extreme places.  Prior to that, Melissa was on staff at the FOX Broadcasting Company where for four years she had created and produced In The Zone, a 3 time Emmy nominated magazine format, youth baseball show.  Melissa initiated the first coordinated program between FOX Sports and FOX Sports.com, encouraging kids to go online in order to fulfill their baseball fantasy and to promote upcoming episodes.  Prior to her position as VP of Special Projects, Melissa previously held the title Creative Director, On Air Promotions where she helped launch the network by developing a signature look and feel of what would become the number one pregame show in America.  She received an Emmy award for The Fox NFL Sunday, Best Pregame Show.  During her tenure at Fox she also developed and produced critically acclaimed "Under The Helmet" NFL anti-violence public service announcements.

Background:  Melissa began her career at MTV in New York, where she worked her way from Production Assistant to Associate Producer of MTV's Unplugged. The Emmy nominated Unplugged features contemporary music talent in an acoustic setting.  As Associate Producer of MTV Sports, she received two Emmy Awards for Best Edited Sports Series which created the signature "MTV Style" of direction.  Melissa lives in Santa Monica with her husband Neal and daughter Sarah.

 

Eric Marcolina, Supervising Producer, Brisun Productions, Inc.

 Eric Marcolina (Marco) brings 10 years of front-line national television experience to the table.  After receiving a degree in Television, Radio, & Film Production from Syracuse University's prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Eric has produced numerous reality series and documentaries for TNN, A&E, The History Channel, OLN, TLC, YES, and NBC Universal.

 Marco's production credits are uncommonly broad.  He has worked on many diverse projects, including, a prime-time sports entertainment series, a highly rated true-crime documentary series (A&E: City Confidential), a highly rated four-hour mini-series (History Channel: US-1: Avenue of America), a reality game show series, a tough man competition series, a highly rated home make over series (TLC: Trading Spaces-Home Free), and a one-hour daily syndicated reality series. 

 Currently, Marco is in his third season as the Supervising Producer of the YES Network's reality series YES' Ultimate Road Trip.  

 Here, while overseeing all aspects of field production, he continues to work closely with high profile sponsors on developing new and imaginative ways for product immersion within the body of the program.
